I chose this song to be part of the project because it is about dealing with loss, and trying to cope with the difficulties of everyday life here on Earth. I feel like so many of us suffer in silence, and don’t have someone to open up and be vulnerable with. I personally am very spiritual, so I wrote this song from the perspective of someone speaking to a wise relative who has passed on. The second verse is that wise relative responding from the afterlife. It’s implied that the response isn’t exactly heard, but felt in a way that can only be experienced when someone is allowing themselves to be open and vulnerable.
