Silent Night, Holy Night
La Luna glows her beautiful light
Illuminating the darkness of night
Against the sky the breath hangs in white
Though it won't snow around here
Leaves will still fall through the air
Silent Night, Holy Night
I can no longer depend on my bike
Rains come down now, How much does the bus cost?
Steam fills the windows instead of jackfrost
I'd rather stay inside and sip tea
But the cafe calls out to me
Silent Night, Holy Night
We only have 9 hours of sunlight
Still, flowers bloom and the hills are now green
It's not my typical holiday scene
But it's time to don my heaviest coat
As the winds rustle feelings of hope
Silent Night, Holy Night
We want to see and end to the fight
What good does it do for Heaven on Earth
When Angels are giving up their self-worth?
Let's put down our guns this war can't be won
When will we see we're all one?
When will we see we're all one?
SeaweedSway is a collaborative evolving project by Jessie Woletz with the help of many friends-- encouraging community through music, yoga, & nature gatherings.
This mix of songs is a project of love & the urge to share music & art. It's also a way to stay connected to my dear friend Reagan who has moved away to NY. She came up with the idea to make these mixes every season, and offered to create art and do the design-work for them, so she is the inspiration behind this project! It is a way to stay connected to each other, and a way for us to collaborate on something we can share with the world. We hope you enjoy the winter mix of songs.
"seaweed sway" is a phrase that came about in a magical conversation I had with Karl Blau to describe the feel of the room and the way people moved/danced during a show. (BrightBlack Morning Light at the Great American Music Hall in 2007. Look up Karl's proect KLAPS.)
Now SeaweedSway happily presents shows in the SF Bay Area at Amnesia, the Make-Out Room (every 3rd Sunday), the Starry Plough in Berkeley (every 4th Saturday), & at various other venues.
